(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill (2023) was passed by the House today with a majority of 37 votes.
When the division was taken this evening following the debate 121 votes were cast in favor while 84 votes were against it.
Accordingly, the Speaker informed the Parliament that the second reading of the 2023 budget was passed.
The debate on the Committee Stage of the Appropriation Bill will begin on November 23rd and the vote will be held on December 8th at 5.00 pm.
