(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s largest state owned retail chain Lanka Sathosa has further reduced the prices of several essential consumer items. Sathosa also says that this discounted price will be effective from today (Dec 14) in all country wide Sathosa outlets.
According to this price reduction, price of a kilo of red dhal has been reduced by 4 rupees and its new price is 385 rupees.
Price of wheat flour has been reduced by Rs 15 per kg and the new price is Rs 250.
Meanwhile, price of a kilo of garlic has been reduced by Rs 35 and the new price is Rs 460.
Price of a kilo of big onion has been reduced by 9 rupees and its new price is 190 rupees, while canned fish produced in Sri Lanka has been reduced by 5 rupees. Its new price is 490 rupees.
Meanwhile, Trade Minister Nalin Fernando said the price of more essential goods is expected to be further reduced in the coming week.
