(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Foreign Employment Bureau has taken measures to extend the 15-day training course for women going abroad for the first time for the position of domestic housekeeping assistant to 28 days from February 1 this year with NVQ 3 level.
Accordingly, 25 days of theoretical and practical training are provided, and 3 days are reserved for NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) evaluation activities.
In addition to this, from April 1, 2023, women who go abroad for the position of housekeeping assistant must apply for bureau registration for foreign employment with NVQ 3 certificate with high value of the profession along with bureau training.
This condition shall not apply to women who have undergone Bureau training so far and to women who have completed their training on or before 31 January 2023.
The Bureau announces that the Foreign Employment Bureau has taken this decision in accordance with the instructions given by the Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara to raise the quality of training courses in order to send well-trained workers abroad according to international standards.
