The ‘Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023’ Held Successfully !

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The ‘Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023’, organized by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority, was held on 12th, 13th, and 14th May 2023 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.

This exhibition was mainly focused on job seekers and academics by giving them the opportunity to share the knowledge with the industry experts and policy makers.

Under the theme ” Creating Opportunities for All …”,This national level exhibition was expected to bring together national and internationl stakeholders in to a one platform.

Accordingly, this exhibition was a great opportunity for the people to get to know about the existing technical training programs ,job vacancies by directing the job seekers to apply for the relevant jobs. Another objective was to raise awareness of the people about the skills and labor requirements of the private sector.

Empowered by ‘The Ministry of Education ‘The Skills Expo 2023, the Sri Lanka’s first skills and career fair was conducted with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank and the Japanese Fund for Poverty Alleviation.

The opening ceremony was held on 12th May after the visit of President Ranil Wickramasinghe at the invitation of Education Minister , Susil Premajayantha.

The exhibition was open to the public from 9 am to 8 pm on all three days, and it was free of charge.

Construction Industry Skills Council (CISC), Information and Communication Technology Industry Skills Council (ICTISC), Manufacturing and Engineering Sector Skills Council (MESSCO), Tourism Industry Skills Council (TISC) and Agriculture Sector Skills Council (ASSC) Emerging technologies in industries related to sectoral skills councils were primarily presented in the “Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2023”.

The organizers said that they are planning to conduct this annually this year onwards.
