(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – A meeting between the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform, President’s Councel, Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapakshe and the Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Zuhair M.H.Zaid, was held at the Ministry of Justice this morning (08).
They exchanged views on improving diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The ambassador stated that efforts are being made to provide the necessary support to Sri Lanka to restore the existing economic crisis, and that Palestine’s support was provided at all times in the resolutions brought regarding Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The Minister of Justice said that since the recommendations of the Supreme Court have been received the new anti-corruption bill to reduce bribery and corruption in Sri Lanka, the bill will be adopted within the next month. Mrs. Wasantha Perera, Secretary of the Ministry, also joined the occasion.
