(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that all the agreements made with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be completed before next September.
The Minister stated this speaking to the media while participating in a program held at the Ruwanwella Public Stadium this morning.
Further commenting, the Minister said although some people alleged that out of 62 agreements made with the International Monetary Fund, only 25 agreements have been fulfilled so far, a committee has been appointed by the Central Bank for that purpose, and according to them, the action plan is moving forward with the timeline.
State Minister Siyambalapitiya said the current government is not hiding anything about the IMF conditions. He said the government has openly discussed the IMF agreement with the public and debated twice in parliament.
“Everyone has been provided the opportunity to discuss this agreement sentence by sentence. Therefore, the government has no need whatsoever to hide any agreement, any condition,” he said.
The Minister added that it will be possible to properly move forward and complete the goals by next September.
