(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara states that the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau will provide the necessary financial support for the housing project proposed to be started for the migrant workers.
The project is implemented by the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau jointly with the National Housing Development Authority.
A progress review meeting regarding the cabinet paper to be presented to the cabinet related to the housing project was held Friday (08) at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau under the chairmanship of Minister Manusha Nanayakkara and State Minister of Urban Development and Housing Thenuka Widanagamage.
Through the website www.slbfe.lk of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau, a survey was conducted regarding the housing needs of expatriate workers. As a result of Minister Nanayakkara’s special attention to the problems identified from the survey, preliminary plans were prepared to implement this housing project.
Several rounds of discussions related to the housing project have been held with Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga and State Minister Thenuka Widanagamage.
Minister Manusha Nanayakkara gave instructions to the officials to quickly amend the relevant cabinet paper and take the necessary steps to submit it to the cabinet.
Senior officials of Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau and Housing Development Authority were present on this occasion.
