(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –A special discussion between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to be held tomorrow (26), it is learnt.
The review discussions under the IMF’s extended credit facility commenced on the 14th.
The Finance Ministry said that in this series of review discussions, more attention was paid to securing the second IMF installment for Sri Lanka and increasing confidence in the economic stability of Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, it is stated that the last meeting of this series of discussions which lasted for almost 2 weeks will be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of President Wickremesinghe.
Following the discussion, an agreement related to the release of the second IMF installment is to be signed.
