(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe held a discussion on Monday with Faris Hadad-Zervos, Country Director of World Bank on the progress of the Aswesuma welfare benefits program.
Country Director Hadad-Zervos has reaffirmed the World Bank’s full support for the transformational reforms to protect the poor and vulnerable in Sri Lanka and for commitment to reach the target of 2 million families.
During the discussion, Minister Semasinghe noted the commitment of the World Bank to support the reform to protect poor and vulnerable in Sri Lanka.
Jayantha Wijerathne, Chairman of the Welfare Benefits Board also participated in the discussions.
