(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Speaking at a program today, Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles revealed that he was offered Rs. 700 million to take Underworld Leader Harak Kata to Dubai instead bringing him to Sri Lanka, when he was taken into custody.
He went onto note that the underworld is ready to remove him from the position by paying bigger amounts.
He added that the President is aware of this incident, and that the person who offered bribe was murdered.
The Minister was speaking at a program for the Police Chiefs and Officers in charge of the Police stations in the southern province.
Speaking at the program, he iterated that officers who are connected to the underworld will be removed from their positions.
He added that OICs must be held responsible any criminal activity in the areas under their purview.
