(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – A new activity was recently started by Leo Club of University of Colombo to alleviate the hunger of economically disadvantaged people and to open avenues for them as a possible alternative.
Accordingly, in the “Nisagini 6.0” project, which was implemented for the sixth time, the first phase of “Saraketa” was implemented on 18 November 2023.
It is a unique event to provide the necessary facilities for agricultural activities to families with economic difficulties under this program.
Thus, the University Leo team supported the preparation of selected fields in the Galle, Waduramba area through a plan we built in a few days.
Here, the university students who did the work of sowing paddy together with the farmers shared food and drinks with them and completed the project successfully.
