“Return my baggy green” David Warner issues desperate plea

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –  David Warner has issued a desperate plea for the return of his treasured ‘Baggy Green’ caps after a backpack featuring the prized possessions went missing in transit from Melbourne.

The champion opener, who will retire from the Test arena at the completion of the SCG Test against Pakistan beginning tomorrow, is shattered to discover the loss of the Australian cap.

The backpack was placed inside a bigger Australian cricket bag which was transported to Sydney after the nation secured the Benaud Qadir Trophy during the Boxing Day Test.

Unfortunately this is my last resort, to do this,” Warner said in a post on Instagram, revealing he has reviewed CCTV footage of the team hotel and Qantas without luck.

“Unfortunately someone has taken my backpack out of my actual luggage, which had my backpack and my girls’ presents in there. Inside this backpack was my baggy greens.

“That’s sentimental to me, it’s something I would love to have back in my hands, walking out there come this week.

“If it’s the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here. You won’t get into any trouble… I’m happy to give this to you if you return my baggy greens.” (FOX Sports)
