(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – All political parties will be informed of the Regulation of Election Expenditure Act on Tuesday (27 Feb.) and 06 March, as per a decision made by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka.
Chairman of the Commission R. M. A. L. Ratnayake explained that the discussion will be held in light of the fact the upcoming elections will be the first to be held following the passage of the Regulation of Election Expenditure Act, in a bid to provide all parties and politicians with a proper understanding of the Act.
According to the Regulation of Election Expenditure Act, all expenses incurred for the purpose of elections and campaigns must be limited, he noted.
As such, Ranjith Maddumabandara, Sisira Jayakody, Uvindu Wijeweera and other representatives of their relevant parties were seen at today’s discussion.
