(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Sri Dalada Esala Perahera of the Scared Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy commenced with the ‘Kap Situweema’ ceremony this morning (Aug 05).
The ‘Kap Situweema’ ceremony of ‘Natha’, ‘Vishnu’, ‘Kataragama’ and ‘Paththini’ dewalayas was held at the auspicious time of 04.10 a.m. today.
The first Kumbal Perahera is slated to take to streets on August 10, following the 5-day internal procession of ‘Satara Maha Dewalayas’, Diyawadana Nilame of Kandy Pradeep Nilanga Dela said.
