(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Ranil Willaddarage, the candidate for the New Democratic Front (Gas Cylinder) in the Colombo district, stated that the country’s economy must be effectively managed; otherwise, both the citizens and the business community will face significant hardships.
Ranil Willaddarage expressed these views during his participation in a public meeting held in Kesbewa.
Ranil Willaddarage who further commented said that,
“Following the economic crisis, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe reinforced the economic framework by stabilizing the country. As a result of the economic reforms implemented, the economy has been stabilized, and the citizens will begin to reap the benefits in the coming months. To ensure the continued strength of the nation’s economy, the current government must persist with these economic reforms. Failure to do so poses a risk of a further collapse of the economy. It was Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe who established a stable economy for both the citizens and the business community.
As young individuals, our aspiration is to elevate our country to a leading position globally under the guidance of a visionary leader. As an entrepreneur, I implemented a business model centered on social welfare within the country, contributed positively to the well-being of its citizens, and subsequently entered the political arena, leveraging the success achieved through these efforts. Politics must be conducted with integrity. The Parliament should be comprised of individuals who are honest, competent, and possess both experience and expertise.
Individuals entering politics should possess both capability and experience. It is our duty to engage and mobilize the youth in this endeavor; otherwise, the country risks facing further decline. To address this, a strong team with the necessary experience has emerged to participate in this year’s general election under the Gas Cylinder.
Ranil Wickramasinghe can be recognized as a leader who has successfully revitalized a bankrupt economy within a span of two years. It is important to acknowledge this achievement without hypocrisy. Our country requires the guidance of mature leaders who possess such a visionary outlook.
Effective management of a country’s income and expenditure is crucial. The nation faced a collapse due to expenditures surpassing revenues, resulting in citizens enduring a period characterized by long queues. However, it has been possible to rectify this situation and stabilize the country over the past two years. In business, we typically collaborate with our own team. Rebuilding a nation that has experienced decline is a challenging endeavor, particularly when working with a group that is not its own. However, Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe has successfully navigated this challenge. The current government has the challenge of effectively managing revenue and expenditure while addressing the expectations of the populace, which include reducing oil prices, controlling the prices of essential commodities, and increasing government employee salaries. However, it remains obvious that they have not yet taken the actions anticipated by the public.” Mr. Willaddarge further stated.
