(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The government has refuted claims that they had printed fresh bank notes.
Speaking at the Cabinet briefing held today (Oct. 29), Cabinet spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath said that the government had neither printed money nor obtained foreign loans.
He elaborated that if banknotes had been printed as alleged, they would bear the signature of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Finance Minister. No such banknotes exist, he pointed out.
