IMF team to visit Sri Lanka today for third review under EFF program

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka Peter Breuer, will be in Colombo from November 17 to 23.

The team will visit the country to conduct the third review of Sri Lanka’s economic reform program supported by the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF), IMF Spokesperson said.

Furthermore, it is reported that the visiting IMF delegation will hold extended discussions focused on the new government’s economic policy, following which the fourth tranche of the bailout package for Sri Lanka will be approved.

The third tranche of about USD 336 million was released to Sri Lanka upon successful completion of the review by IMF in June this year.
