(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Election Commission has said that they are focused on determining suitable dates for the Local Government elections in a way without disrupting examination activities.
This was revealed during a meeting yesterday (Nov. 27) under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake.
Mr. Ratnayake has emphasized that the LG polls must be held as soon as possible in accordance with a Supreme Court order.
He has added that the Commission is expected to convene again in the coming days to finalise a date.
