(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The United Nations Population Fund in Sri Lanka and the Government of Japan recently handed over a consignment of goods to support the Ministry of Health to strengthen access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. Additionally, the infrastructure provided will further strengthen the service provision capacity at Women and Youth-Friendly health centres.

COPE uncovers the Rs.50 million scam that took place at the PGIS of the University of Peradeniya

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – It was revealed at the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) that a former senior official of the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS) affiliated to the University of Peradeniya had fraudulently obtained Rs. 50 million from fixed deposits maintained by the PGIS of the university.
