Sri Lankan Delegation to Participate in International Election Visitor Program conducted by Election Commission of India

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Election Commission of India is organizing the International Election Visitor Program (IEVP) during the ongoing Lok Sabha 2024 elections, scheduled from May 4th to May 9th, 2024. As part of this initiative, a 10 member delegation from Sri Lanka will be participating, comprising two representatives from the Election Commission of Sri Lanka and eight from PCOI (Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Make Recommendations for Election Law Reforms).

Deadline for accepting of donations to Gaza Fund extended till May 31

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The deadline for the Children of Gaza Fund, initiated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to aid those affected by conflicts in Gaza, has now been extended until May 31, 2024. Originally scheduled to conclude on April 30, 2024, the extension follows a widespread appeal from across the island. Irrespective of background, citizens have rallied behind the President’s call to support this cause.
