Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children for the academic year 2022-23

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Government of India has been implementing “Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children [SPDC]” since 2006-07. Under this scheme, assistance is provided to the Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) for pursuing Undergraduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes.

New economic zones to be established to attract foreign investments

Court issues foreign travel ban on State Minister Diana Gamage

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has issued an order banning State Minister Diana Gamage from traveling abroad. The order will be effective until the 17th of December. Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe has issued this order to the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration after considering a motion filed by a group including lawyer Gunaratne Vanninayake.
