Sri Lanka CERT alerts Public to Beware of Fake Messages on social media and Communication Networks such as WhatsApp

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –  The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) today issued an alert to the public about the surge in fake messages being disseminated via social media and communication platforms, particularly WhatsApp.

Detention orders obtained to quizz suspects arrested over threats to Israelis

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –  Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa says that detention orders have been obtained to question three suspects arrested in connection with alleged security threats to Israeli nationals in Sri Lanka.The three suspects were arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID).

AUSTRALIA GRANTS SURVEILLANCE AIRCRAFT TO STRENGTHEN SLAF’S MARITIME SURVEILLANCE AND RECONNAISSANCE CAPABILITIES

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Australian Government has today provided a Royal Australian Air Force surveillance aircraft, Beechcraft King Air 350, to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) on a gratis basis.
