Dinesh Schaffter’s family granted permission to bury his remains

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (16) granted permission for the family member of late businessman Dinesh Schaffter, to bury his remains, which were exhumed on a request of the five-member committee of judicial and forensic medical experts appointed to uncover the actual cause behind the death of the reputed businessman.

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Colombo Additional Magistrate has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to hand over the remains of late businessman Dinesh Schaffter to his family as postmortem examinations have been concluded, reporter said.

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –  The five-member forensic medical committee appointed by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court to determine the cause of death of the director of Janashakthi Group, Mr. Dinesh Schaffter, has started a two-day discussion at the Faculty of Medicine of Peradeniya University with the aim of analyzing the facts found so far.

Schaffter’s murder: CID records statements from 58 persons

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Nihal Thalduwa said the Criminal Investigation Department so far has recorded statements of 58 people in connection with the brutal murder of Janashakthi Group director Dinesh Schaffter (51) who was assaulted and strangled in his car at Borella Cemetery on 15 December.
