(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Everyone has already gathered around one flag to take the country forward with clean politics with the United Peoples freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), says President Maithripala Sirisena.
Addressing the victorious rally held in Kaduruwela on February 7, he stated that through a movement of clean politics, for which the people rally around, he is ready for the journey towards building a new country.
The final rally which was held under the patronage of President Sirisena to ensure the victory of the candidates of the United People’s freedom Alliance led by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in Kaduruwela with a huge gathering of people.
President Sirisena addressing the meeting in midst of well wishes of people said that service for people will be led by wining each and every challenge protecting the Motherland with utmost self- sacrifice.
He assured that the unity and national security of the motherland will be secured.
The President emphasized that he is not ready to work with the corrupted politicians and further said that he will be committed to build the country while creating a clean political movement as he never allowed room for fraud, corruption and bribery in his political journey.
The President, with regret, recalled the criticisms made by the former President about the development process of the district, when he visited Polonnaruwa recently, and said that at present the process to make new transformations in the development activities of the villages as well as in the towns have been implemented broadly.
‘Today, the people rally around to build a clean political movement with that change’, he said while extending an invitation to the former President as well as to all who leveled criticisms to experience that change by visiting each village and town.
The National Organizer of the SLFP, Minister Susil Premajayantha, Minister Duminda Disanayake, Governor of the North Central Province, P.B. Disanayake, Governor of the Uva Province, M. P. Jayasinghe, Governor of the Southern Province, Hemakumara Nanayakkara, Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala, former Chief Minister of the North Central Province, Peshala Jayarathna, Weerakumara Disanayake, Anuruddha Polgampola, Chandrasiri Sooriyaarachchi and others participated in this public rally.
