(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena today inquired into the grievances of lower-ranked officers of the Police Department.
The President, who visited the Ministry of Law and Order in Suhurupaya in Battaramulla yesterday(05) to participate in the public’s day met with the police officers who had come to present their grievances.
The President engaging in a cordial conversation with the officers of the lower ranks of the police who had come to the Ministry to submit their problems, including complaints regarding promotions and transfers, and listened to their grievances.
Subsequently, the President had a meeting with the staff and advised that steps should be taken to ensure that all officers of the police service are able to perform their duties with a satisfactory mind and to provide solutions to all their problems.
Senior officials of the Law and Order Ministry were also present at the event.
