(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – President Maithripala Sirisena went on an observational visit to Zion church which suffered heaviy toll of deaths and damages due to terrorist bomb explosions last 21st of April.
The President, who went to the church was warmly welcomed by the head priest Rev Roshan Maheshan and other priests. He observed the church which was destroyed in the barbaric terrorist attack on Easter Sunday.
President Sirisena instructed the eastern commander in chief and the security forces to take immediate steps to reconstruct the church. He also expressed his deepest condolences to the head priest and other priests regarding the tragic attack.
Minister Daya Gamage, Eastern province Governor M.L.A.M. Hisbullah, Member of Parliament, Angajan Ramanathan and heads of Tri Forces joined with the President at this visit.
