(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Cabinet Spokesman and Information and Media, Higher Education, Technology and innovations Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena referring to the strong stand taken by Gampaha District Forest Officer Devani Jayathilake against the proposal to construct a playground in the Kadolkele Mangrove said the President, Prime Minister and the entire Cabinet of Ministers will stand by the position taken by the forest officer regarding the issue.
He was responding to a question by a journalist at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department.
“Unlike the previous regime, the present government headed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is dedicated to safeguarding government officials. During the previous regime, government officials had to spend hours on benches to provide statements regarding the various frauds and corruption committed by the politicians,” the Minister said.
