(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – According to information received by the Western Province Intelligence, a hawk suspected to be used for drug trafficking has been found in a farm at the Cemetery Road area of Nawalamulla, Meegoda.
Information has been received that the hawk was used by “Angoda Lokka” who is considered as an underworld gang leader to distribute drugs.
The owner of the farm and another person were arrested by the Athurugiriya Police yesterday (30) along with an air rifle and 10 rounds of ammunition.
It is reported that the two arrested are close associates of Angoda Lokka.
Known as the “Kusa Ali Sea Hawk”, the hawk is believed to be capable of carrying about 15 kilograms of weight.
Athurugiriya Police are conducting further investigations.
