(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) SSP Shani Abeysekara has been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division this morning, Police Spokesman Jaliya Senaratne said.
Police Media Spokesman stated that SSP Shani Abeysekara is accused of concealing evidence in a firearms case carried out by the CID.
He further stated that the former director of the CID who was arrested early this morning at his residnece is to be brought to the Colombo Crimes Division.
