Bus, train services to and from the Western Province suspended untl Nov 15

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – All buses entering and leaving the Western Province will be suspended until November 15, State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama said.

He also said that the bus services in the outstations are operating normally subject to health and safety measures.

Meanwhile, the trains are allowed to enter the Western Province but are not allowed to exit the province, Sri Lanka Railways said on Wednesday (11).

Accordingly, trains operating from Beliatta, Kandy, Mahawa, Puttalam and Avissawella will be permitted to operate to the Fort Railway Station on Thursday (12) morning.

Trains departing from the Western Province will run only to Aluthgama, Ambepussa, Kochchikade and Avissawella.

The restrictions imposed by the government preventing anyone from leaving the Western Province until midnight on Sunday (15), will not have any effect on regional trains.
