(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 864 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Sunday.
Among the positive cases identified Sunday, 827 are associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and 10 are associates from the prison cluster and 27 arrivals from overseas including 17 from the United Arab Emirates and 10 from South Korea.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 10 pm Sunday, a total of 64,157 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,682 infected patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 767 individuals are currently suspected of infection and hospitalized.
Sri Lanka reported three deaths Sunday raising the total to 316 and 57,159 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
A total of 1,708,399 PCR tests have been conducted to detect COVID-19 infected persons from February 18 to January 30 according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
