MP Shantha Bandara sworn in as State Minister of Agriculture

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Kurunegala District Sri Lanka Freedom Party Parliamentarian Shantha Bandara was sworn in as the State Minister of Agriculture before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House yesterday evening (11).

Mr. Shantha Bandara has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Minister of State for Agriculture Shasheendra Rajapaksa.

Mr. Shantha Bandara, who is also the media spokesperson of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, is a member of the group of MPs who recently left the government and became independent.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the President has not accepted the resignation of Piyankara Jayaratne, who was the State Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion.
