(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that he is ready to make any sacrifice if a decision is taken for the benefit of the people.
Mr. Rajapaksa said the President could reach a decision without hindrance and that no one had the right to betray the aspirations of 6.9 million people.
He also stated that he did not want to anarchize the country for political purposes.
The Prime Minister said this in a special statement to the people who came to Temple Trees today (9) to show support to him and urged him not to resign.
The Prime Minister also said that the protection of the divided motherland was the best memory of his political career.
Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa said that he had no habit of fleeing in the face of challenges, adding that he had been brought into politics by the trust of the people and that he was ready to come to an agreement with the people.
