(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –Inspector General of Police CD Wickramaratne has issued an order to all police stations to videotape people who are creating riots at petrol stations.
The IGP has instructed the police officers on security duty at the petrol stations to videotape all incidents of unrest, clashes and riots at petrol stations.
The IGP has emphasized that a copy of the video footage should be given to the OIC and recorded in police books.
The IGP has further emphasized in his order that the videos should be used in prosecuting incidents related to petrol stations.
