(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The police have arrested a group of people who were preparing to flee to India in the Pesalai area. It was during a raid based on information received.
The Police Media Division said based on a tip-off officers raided a house in the area of Section 08, Pesalai.
During the inspection of the house, Police arrested 08 persons, including two children and two women, who were staying in the house in preparation for fleeing to India.
The arrested people are residents of Kilinochchi and the adults are aged between 19 and 43.
Police said the male suspects were remanded until the 19th of October after being produced before the Mannar Magistrate’s Court.
The females have been released on bail and the two children have also been released.
The Pesalai Police is conducting further investigations.
