(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is on an official visit to the UK and France, met the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland, KC in London Monday.
The President’s Media Division said President Wickremesinghe discussed the digitalization programs within the Commonwealth and shared his strategies for addressing climate change with Commonwealth Secretary-General.
President Wickremesinghe has explored the potential involvement of the Commonwealth in these efforts.
Commonwealth Secretary-General welcoming the Sri Lankan President to Marlborough House said they discussed broadening the Commonwealth’s partnerships, digitalization, and the Commonwealth’s programs like Commonwealth for Climate and Blue Charter to enhance support to member countries.
During his stay in the UK, President Wickremesinghe is scheduled to attend the 40th anniversary event of the International Democrat Union (IDU) in London on the 19th and the 20th of June and address the IDU forum.
