Saudi Arabia has conquered the world through humanitarian endeavours

Khalid bin Hamood Al Qahdani of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Sri Lanka,

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has played a pivotal role in global humanitarian efforts, extending its hand in aid during various crises, be it related to natural disasters or economic hardships. The Saudi government, alongside philanthropic individuals, has consistently provided support to nations in need, including Sri Lanka, offering assistance in restoring economies and aiding victims of disasters such as the devastating Tsunami.

This commitment to humanitarian assistance was consolidated on May 13, 2015, with the establishment of the “King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.” Operating under the motto “Towards An Unrestricted Humanity,” this initiative has become a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian endeavors.

The activities of the center encompass a wide range of crucial aid efforts, including food security, sanitation, disease prevention, water provision, environmental protection, housing construction, security services, logistical support, education initiatives, distribution of dry food, disaster relief, and the distribution of dates during Ramadan. These humanitarian programs have garnered global appreciation, transcending boundaries of race and religion.

Head quartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the center was founded by His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, with Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabi’a serving as its dedicated executive director. Dr. Al Rabi’a, a medical expert renowned for successfully separating over 60 individuals conjoined at birth, exemplifies the center’s commitment to excellence.

From 2015 to the present, Saudi Arabia has allocated a substantial $1,979,808,924 USD for humanitarian aid to numerous countries worldwide, including Sri Lanka, through this indispensable relief center.

In an exemplary display of benevolence, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has embarked on a mission to alleviate the suffering of underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka regardless of race, religion, caste and creed. This endeavor encompasses the provision of cost-free medical treatment in Kattankudi of Sri Lanka during the period from 04th to 10th may 2024.

This noble initiative provides a comprehensive range of medical services, including eye examinations conducted by qualified Pakistani ophthalmologists, surgeries, prescription medications, conjunctiva removal, treatment for tear duct blockages, and the provision of eyeglasses, all at no cost.

Vision is a divine gift bestowed upon every individual, for which we are profoundly grateful. The plight of those who endure visual impairment is beyond words. In this regard, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is undertaking a remarkable humanitarian endeavor, offering the gift of sight to countless individuals with visual impairment globally, including tens of thousands in Sri Lanka each year. This undertaking stands as one of the most monumental humanitarian efforts on a global scale. Apart from that, daily health guidance and support are provided by specialized doctors, ensuring the holistic well-being of the patients.

The “King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center” continues to carry out such vital humanitarian work in underdeveloped regions like Sri Lanka, earning the gratitude and admiration of the Sri Lankan people, who embrace this assistance without regard for race or religion.
