The President Ranil Wickremesinghe prevented the country from facing complete bankruptcy. – Stated Ranil Willaddarage, the Kesbewa UNP organizer.

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –  Mr. Ranil Willaddarage, the Kesbewa UNP regional organizer, affirmed that the incumbent President Ranil Wickramasinghe successfully rescued the nation and fostered a conducive environment for entrepreneurs, all while averting bankruptcy.

Mr. Ranil Willaddarage conveyed these sentiments during a gathering of young individuals from the Kesbewa polling division on the 29th.

Mr. Ranil Willaddarage, further commented that,

“If economic stability had not been established in the country following the economic crisis, we as entrepreneurs would have encountered a significant challenge and in such a scenario, the private sector would have experienced a substantial collapse. The nation was fortunate to have navigated the crisis successfully, thereby preventing a situation where approximately 6 million private sector workers would have been impacted. President Ranil Wickramasinghe can be recognized as a leader who effectively fulfilled his responsibilities and navigated challenges with maturity, successfully restoring stability to the country.

During a period when certain leaders shied away from accepting the challenge and departed, disregarding their personal gains, the President tackled the crisis head-on and succeeded in stabilizing the country within a brief span of two years. Governing a nation requires dedication and perseverance, with no room for shortcuts. Furthermore, unpopular decisions are sometimes necessary for nation-building. In such instances, leadership, experience, and strong decision-making skills are crucial attributes for a leader.

Socialist ideas tend to emerge in countries experiencing economic crises, a trend observed in some nations post-Second World War. However, these ideas are often temporary and do not necessarily propel a society or country forward. Mr. Ranil Willaddarage emphasized the importance of individuals entering politics after addressing their own needs and being in a position to contribute to the welfare of others. This approach could lead to a reduction in fraud and corruption within the country, ultimately benefiting its future.”
