Plastic waste carried by rivers form dead sea in Bay of Bengal

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Environmentalists have mentioned that six countries located in the SAARC region have been affected by forming a dead sea in the Bay of Bengal around Sri Lanka, as a result, they have identified that the countries like Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia are at risk.

Chemical odors behind detection of dangerous waste smuggling in Lopburi

(LANKAPUVATH | THAILAND) – The complaints of farmers in Lopburi Province, Thailand, about the existence of chemical odors leaking inside their agricultural lands, led to the discovery of several tanks with the capacity of 200 liters, weighing no less than 500 tons, buried at a depth of more than two meters, were intended for smuggling, and contained chemicals such as toluene, methyl ethyl ketone and butyl acetate, all of which are toxic and flammable substances.
