(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Another 822 suspects have been arrested during the islandwide special operation ‘Yukthiya’ carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF).
The Ministry of Public Security said the arrests were made during the special operation conducted until 12.30 am today.
The Police had also recovered 273g of heroin, 111g of ICE, 1.6 kilos of cannabis, and 426 narcotic pills.
A total of 20,742 suspects were arrested as of yesterday since the launch of the ‘Yukthiya’ special operation on December 17, 2023.
The Police have recovered a large amount of narcotics, while they have also seized several illegally acquired assets, including properties and vehicles, during the multiple raids.
